Grading Information

The following marking scale is used in UCC. Grades are awarded from 0-100%. Courses differ on what weighting they give your overall result from each year. Generally, First Year Marks are not counted in your overall grade.

• 70-100% – 1.1 -First Class Honours

• 60-69% – 2.1 -Second Class Honours, Grade 1

• 50-59% – 2.2 -Second Class Honours, Grade 2

• 45%-49% – 3.1 -Third Class Honours

• 40%-44% – Pass

• <40% Fail
