Peer Support

First years are linked with a peer supporter when they enter UCC. Peer supporters are typically students in a higher year of your course and are there to support you in any personal issues you  might have. Each peer supporter is highly trained and if they can’t fix your query themselves they will know someone who can. You will have met your peer supporter in orientation and I encourage you  to keep in contact with them over the year.

If you have any questions about the peer support system or would like to become a peer supporter yourself contact the PASS coordinator at pass@ucc.ie.

Accommodation

The shortage of student housing around UCC is something that the Students’ Union is actively lobbying with the University and the Government, it is truly unacceptable. The Students’ Union does not have a database of rooms or housing, but we can signpost you to the resources available.

Sexual Health

Whoever you like you should love safe sex. Whatever your sexuality, having sex is part of being human, but you must stay safe! Here are some services that will keep you safe if you choose to have sex. Remember, not everyone will be sexually active during their time at college and you shouldn’t feel pressured into having sex because your friends are.

Mental Health

College can be a very overwhelming time. No matter what the issue is, we are here to help!
