Stephen O’Riordan

Council Chair

Hi, my name is Stephen O’Riordan and I am extremely excited to be your Student Representative Council Chairperson for 2020/21.
I’m a third-year Physics and Applied Mathematics student. I’m very involved with societies, being the Chairperson of the Physics and Astronomy Society and the Finance Officer of Netsoc. I love to get involved as much as possible and help people in any way I can. Outside of college, I have a few interests. I’m a second-degree black belt in Taekwon-do and recently started to learn to play the piano.
My job for the year is to make sure all students feel represented, both through their Class Representatives and through speaking at Council. I have the honour of adjudicating over Council debate and ensuring that Class Reps have the ability to hold the Executive to account over their decisions, and can pass mandates telling the Executive what they want to see achieved. The SU is nothing without the student voice and Council is your opportunity to express it.
If you have any questions about Council or anything else, then please do get in touch with me.
