The Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science Simon Harris TD and Minister of State for Skills and Further Education Niall Collins TD have today outlined how the €250 once off COVID payment for students will be distributed.

Students who avail of the SUSI grant will receive a €250 top-up in their grant before Christmas.

Students who do not avail of the grant can either reduce by €250 any outstanding contribution fee payments, or receive a €250 credit not more their institutions.

In a small number of cases, alternative arrangements will be made for the payment of the monies to students, but as of right now the circumstances for this to happen have not been announced.

A Gov.ie press release on the payment is available to read here.

If you have any further questions in relation to SUSI or your student fees, you can contact UCC’s Student Budgetary Advisor at studentbudgetingadvice@ucc.ie or email welfare@uccsu.ie to talk to Jamie, our Welfare Officer.
