UCCSU is delighted to be supporting the Movember 2020 campaign.
Movember is a movement that seeks to promote awareness on three major men’s health issues – Mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer
Since 2003, Movember has funded more than 1,250 men’s health projects around the world, challenging the status quo, shaking up men’s health research and transforming the way health services reach and support men.
The ultimate goal of Movember is to reduce the number of men dying prematurely by 25% by 2030.
UCCSU Movember
UCCSU are getting involved in Movember with three of our officers growing out their dodgy staches. We’re also launching our Mens Sheds initiative which will provide a space for like-minded men to come together and socialise safely each week.
UCC Movember
UCC Movember is the one stop page for all the Movember events and fundraising efforts taking place. Here you can find leaderboards of the highest fundraisers, weekly roundups of Movember events and lots more!
UCC Commerce Society
The boys of the UCC Commerce Society are taking part in Movember this year to raise money for men’s health!
UCC Aussie Rules
The UCC Aussie Rules club have so far raised an astounding €6,000 for Movember. Look out for their Wax Night happening on the 21st of November!

A group of 4th year BComm students have been growing out their staches AND will be running a whopping 840km to support Movember!
UCC Criminology Society
The UCC Criminology Society are getting stuck into Movember this month and encouraging their members to grow out a lovely moustache or walk/run 60km over the course of the month!
UCC Science Soc
The UCC Science Society are collectively moving 1000km for Movember to raise awareness and funds for men’s health issues including testicular cancer, prostate cancer & mental health!

UCC’s very own Mountaineering club is raising money for Movember 2020

UCC E&S are participating in Movember to raise awareness of men’s mental health, prostrate cancer & suicide prevention with the aim of reducing the stigma surrounding both physical and mental illnesses.

UCC’s Feminist Society are raising money for Movember 2020 and shared the video above discussing the importance of the campaign!

The UCC M&M team have raised over €3,000 for men’s health during Movember!
