The Student Representative Council is the primary decision-making and representative body of UCC Students’ Union. Council plays a central role in ensuring that the views, concerns, and priorities of students are communicated directly to the SU Executive.

Council is responsible for voicing the concerns of the student body, formulating mandates for members of the Executive, and ensuring that the Union operates in line with its Constitution. Through motions and debate, Council helps shape SU policy, campaigns, and priorities on issues ranging from education and welfare to activism, events, and representation.

All students are welcome to attend Council meetings, ask questions of Officers, and speak on motions and items of discussion. Voting rights rest with elected Academic and ENTS Class Representatives, who vote on behalf of their constituents.

Council meetings provide an open, democratic space for students to engage directly with their Union and influence the direction of student representation on campus
