UCC Students’ Union is proud to announce the Raise and Give (RAG) Week 2025/26 charities, which will be supported by students through fundraising, events, and campus initiatives throughout the year. RAG is one of the most important and long-standing traditions within UCCSU, bringing students together to raise vital funds for meaningful causes while having fun and building community.

Cork City Hospitals Children’s Club

Founded in 1994 by staff at what is now Cork University Hospital, Cork City Hospitals Children’s Club is a volunteer-run charity dedicated to giving children with serious illnesses a much-needed break from the realities of hospital life. All funds raised go directly towards trips and special experiences, both abroad and at home, including annual international trips, Christmas events at Páirc Uí Chaoimh, and hosting families on St Patrick’s Street on St Patrick’s Day. UCCSU is delighted to support a charity so deeply rooted in Cork and built entirely on community spirit.

Irish Red Cross: Restoring Family Links Programme

The Irish Red Cross Restoring Family Links Programme works to reconnect families who have been separated due to conflict, persecution, disaster, or displacement. Through tracing services, message delivery, and international coordination with the Red Cross and Red Crescent network, the programme helps reunite loved ones across borders. In recent years, the programme has supported refugees and displaced people in Ireland, including unaccompanied minors and those with medical needs. UCCSU is proud to stand behind this humanitarian work and to raise awareness of the power of reunification and dignity.

Palestine Aid - Emergency Appeal

Palestine Aid has been delivering life-saving humanitarian assistance to Palestinian communities since 2008. Through its Emergency Appeal, the organisation provides urgent aid in response to the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, including food packages, clean water, medical supplies, and shelter support. With widespread displacement and food insecurity affecting millions, funds raised through RAG will go directly towards supporting civilians facing unimaginable conditions. UCCSU is committed to solidarity, humanitarian action, and supporting students who wish to make a real difference.

Want to Get Involved with RAG Crew?

Students who are interested in fundraising, volunteering, or getting involved behind the scenes are encouraged to join RAG Crew. No experience is needed; RAG is all about fun, teamwork, and giving back. There are plenty of exciting events planned across the week, with collections, campus activities, and signature RAG events bringing students together for great causes.

Everyone is welcome to get involved and help make Raise and Give Week 2025/26 one to remember
