UCCSU Launch #CheckOnAMate Campaign
Today UCC Students’ Union launched the “#CheckOnAMate” campaign to encourage students to reach out to their friends and have honest conversations about their mental health.
Online learning and the “bed to desk routine” has been wreaking havoc on the mental health of UCC students.
Welfare Officer Jamie Fraser stated that “Doing something simple such as reaching out and sending a text can totally change the perception of a loved ones day.”
Over the next few days we are asking students in UCC and across the country to #CheckOnAMate and send a text to someone you love.
In a time where we are most challenged, it’s essential we be there for each other.
Send a text, it might just save a life.
